DoverPhila Federal Credit Union Continues to Give Back

Following another very successful year at DoverPhila Federal Credit Union, the credit union was able to give back a $1.5 million year-end bonus dividend to its members. This marks the 25th consecutive year that DoverPhila returns earnings back to its members.

The credit union is a community-focused, financial cooperative controlled by its members making it possible for it to reward its members with a bonus dividend that is derived from the interest earned and/or paid on a membership that is in good standing.

DoverPhila’s financial success is also shared with its members through other fiscal opportunities such as low-cost auto loans, higher interest rates on certificates of deposits (CDs), and a vast array of other products and services.

Its people-helping-people mindset was apparent this year through numerous sponsorships that included Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital’s Run for Home, United Way of Tuscarawas County’s Rock ‘n Run 5k and Truck Fest, East Central Ohio ESC’s Family Reading Festival, Tusky Days Festival, Tuscarawas County YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, and The Times-Reporter’s Kidz Expo.

The credit union also donated to community organizations such as Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County, Rainbow Connection, Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured, Kent State University Tuscarawas, Tuscarawas County Philharmonic, Tuscarawas County Community Hospice, Tuscarawas County United Way, Tuscarawas County Humane Society, Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, Trinity Hospital Twin City, Friends of Tuscarawas County Parks, Trumpet in the Land, Norma Johnson Center, Leader’s Edge Anti-Virus Youth Character Education program, and many more.

DoverPhila continued to invest in financial literacy programs such as the award-winning, online program Banzai, a life-size Finances 101 game that teaches the financial demands of the real world, and quarterly financial workshops at Ohio Means Jobs of Tuscarawas County. All programs are available for free to area organizations, schools, and the community.

“Our growth over the years has put us in a great position to be able to give back to so many great organizations in the area that serve our community,” said Jason Garner, DoverPhila’s Chief Executive Officer.

This year also marked the construction of the credit union’s administrative building located behind its main office on Fillmore Avenue in Dover. The new building houses the Mortgage Department, Compliance Department, Accounting Department, and upper management.

The credit union looks forward to the new year with plans of launching a new online banking platform, incorporating a new series of modified ATMs, continuing to improve both online and in-house lending processes, enhancing member services, and striving to be Tuscarawas County’s go-to, financial literacy provider.

“I am proud of the entire credit union staff. Their dedication to provide consistent quality member service is the driving force in DoverPhila becoming an industry leader,” said Garner. “I look forward to our continued commitment to financial literacy in Tuscarawas County.”
