DoverPhila Federal Credit Union is partnering with Dover Public Library and Tuscarawas County Public Library System to present a series of financial education programs.
On Saturday, September 26th at 2:30pm, the credit union’s Finances 101 program will be available in the Dover Public Library’s parking lot.
Finances 101 is a financial education program geared towards teens and young adults that incorporates a life-size board game to teach real-world financial demands. Participants make life choices through the draw of the cards, the roll of the dice, or the spin of a wheel as they travel around the game. Contestants may payout money to be in a friend’s wedding, have a winning lottery ticket, pay an unexpected visit to the emergency room, or get a promotion at work. The goal of the program is to educate individuals on earning a salary, paying bills and taxes, what it costs to run a household, how earnings impact buying decisions, and what responsibilities lie ahead in the adult world.
DoverPhila is virtually hosting the program, “Master Your Money: Exploring Scams” with Dover Public Library (October 28th at 6:30pm) and Tuscarawas County Public Library System (November 18th at 10:00am).
Master Your Money: Exploring Scams educates attendees on safe financial practices. The credit union will share basic information on the latest scams along with best preventative practices and how to recover if you become a victim.
